How To Tie One On

There is nothing better then a Southern Gentleman; you know what they say…once you go Southern you never go back. The Southern Gentleman knows how to impress, open a door, and tie a bow tie! From the perspective of any Southern Belle there is nothing more attractive then a guy with manners who wears a bow tie and acts like a man. I for one am a huge fan of bow ties! Believe it or not there is a right way and a wrong way to tie a bow tie, I will say this, you don’t tie a bow tie like you tie your shoelaces. Tying a bow tie is a little bit trickier then one might suspect, but once you have the hang of it it’s as easy as cutting butter. To help you out here is a step-by-step of how to tie a bow tie.
Put the bow tie around your neck. One end should extend about 1.5 inches longer then the other end
Cross the longer end over the shorter end.
Pass the longer end up through the loop to form a simple loose overhand knot
Pull the end that is hanging (on the right side in this picture) to the right and fold it back over itself to the left. Hold this fold between your shirt collar points.
Drop the raised end of the tie over the front of the bow
Grab the right and left sides of the horizontally-folded end and pinch them together in front of the dangling end.
Feed the middle of the dangling end back through the knot you made in step 3
Perfection!
Now there is no excuse not to be able to the perfect bow tie; so go tie one on! Heck, Southern Belles love bow ties so much we even put them on our dogs!Everybody looks dapper in a bow tie, even a Southern dog!
